Varifocal lenses allow you to see clearly at multiple distances through a single pair of glasses. The top of the lens is designed for distance vision, the middle provides intermediate vision for tasks such as computer use, and the lower part is used for near vision such as reading.
Unlike bifocal lenses, varifocals have no visible dividing line between the different viewing areas. The prescription changes gradually through the lens, creating a smoother transition between distance, intermediate and near vision.

Occupational lenses are designed for people who spend a lot of time working at near and intermediate distances, such as reading, computer work and office tasks.
Compared with an everyday varifocal, they can provide a much wider usable viewing area for desk and screen work, making them more comfortable for prolonged close-range tasks.

Yes. Depending on your prescription and frame choice, thinner high-index lens materials can be used to help reduce lens thickness and weight. We offer several Thin & Light lens options, including higher-index materials for stronger prescriptions.
Varifocal lenses need accurate fitting measurements so the distance, intermediate and near zones are positioned correctly in front of your eyes. This normally includes your pupillary distance (PD) and the fitting height within the chosen frame. We will guide you through the measurements required after you place your order.
No. Occupational lenses are designed primarily for near and intermediate tasks such as computer work, desk work and reading. They are not intended to replace your normal distance or varifocal glasses and should not be used for driving.
